With Susan Brook behind us, we stand proud at the mouth of Goose Creek A rainy morning on shallow waters
The creek meanders through a marsh

Our ascent of Goose Creek began at the small falls pictured above where the creek meets Susan Brook. It is a shallow, narrow waterway that widens briefly before narrowing again at its headwaters: an expansive swamp where it shrinks to a foot-wide boulder-strewn creek bed complete with plenty of sink holes. Hubbard, Wallace and Elson used this waterway, as we did, to access Mountaineer and Elson Lakes.
