We are a New England-based paddling team that has focused its wilderness canoeing efforts in and around the Nunavik Region of Quebec, Canada and the province of Labrador. We first ventured into these wild spaces in the early 1990s when we learned that several of the region's rivers were threatened by hydro-electric development. We were so struck by the beauty and remoteness of this wilderness area that we returned year after year to explore the rugged sub-arctic landscape.

I have developed and posted this web site in an effort to promote what we consider to be the perfect manner in which to explore wild places such as Nunavik and to help visitors gain an appreciation for a means of travel that was integral to the survival of indigenous peoples and the early fur traders who inhabited and explored this landscape. It is a place that has remained virtually unchanged throughout recorded human history. Wolves, caribou and black bear run free, northern lights fill the evening sky, waterfalls and rapids roar over ancient rock and riverbeds, and world-class trout fill the cool clear waters of countless rivers and streams. Traveling by canoe is the best way to explore and enjoy remote areas such as Nunavik.

The Nunavik region and areas like it around the globe are wilderness in the truest sense of the word and they demand both our respect and our diligence to ensure that they are preserved for future generations. We welcome both veteran and novice paddlers alike. We share your love of wild places and we hope you enjoy the site. Be sure to catch a glimpse of Nunavik in the Canoe Expeditions section of the site, which can be accessed from the main menu.
