Help put the wild back into the Allagash
Deep in the heart of Maine's backcountry, the Allagash River flows northward for more than 90 miles, through rapids and eddies, linking seven major lakes. It is one of the last primitive river courses in the United States. Famed for classic wilderness canoeing, the Allagash is one of only two National Wild and Scenic Rivers in the eastern U.S. The future of the Allagash is, however, far from secure.
The preservation of the wild character of the Allagash is one of PEER's major campaigns. To learn more about how you can help preserve this national treasure visit PEER's Maine Office online at http://www.peer.org/chapters/me.php
